On December 1st the U.S Supreme Court will hear Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the most consequential abortion rights case to reach the court in nearly 50 years. As part of our work with The Center for Reproductive Rights (@ReproRights) helping to promote their vital work to protect abortion rights in the US and around the world, we recently brought @TIME to visit the last abortion clinic in Mississippi, Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which is represented by @ReproRights.

Julie Rikelman, Senior Director of Litigation, who will be arguing for the Center before the Supreme Court, spoke with TIME about the monumental stakes of this moment, noting that “if the Supreme Court upholds this ban, it will have effectively overturned Roe v. Wade.”

Repost• @reprorights “Back at her desk, in front of a sign reading Queen Warrior, Brewer considers the enormity of her role in the moment—the last director of her state’s last abortion clinic, just weeks before the most momentous high-court hearing on abortion in a generation. ‘I’m going to appreciate the time that we have,’ she says. ‘Once we go to court, every day that we are open and see patients and get to talk to them—it’s like we don’t know if this is the last time.’”

Huge congrats to Terence Blanchard, Camille A. Brown, and the entire cast and crew of ‘Fire Shut Up in My Bones’ who brought pure magic back to New York last night – from the opera house to Times Square to Marcus Garvey Park. We are proud to have been a part of such a historic moment and support our client, The Metropolitan Opera.

Repost @abetterny

Statement by ABNY Chairman Steven Rubenstein and CEO Melva M. Miller on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11:

“No New Yorker forgets. We all carry the memories of that September morning. We remember the people we lost and we will never forget the bravery of first responders who rushed in to save our loved-ones and neighbors. Even as the years pass, we keep in our hearts those who grieve loved ones, first responders suffering from lingering illness, and everyone who continues to feel the impact of that day.

Amid unfathomable pain and loss, we also remember how New York came together to recover. Together, we rebuilt lower Manhattan, we showed our resiliency to the world, and the world rediscovered its love for this city.

Today, we are again coming back from a painful chapter in our City’s history. We must find that same resilience and spirit as we envision and rebuild a city that’s stronger and more vibrant than ever.

New York’s best days are ahead.”

The data is in! We are so proud of our team's work with @abetterny fighting for an accurate count in the #2020Census.

Repost: @abetterny If we ever needed proof what our city can achieve when we all work together, the release of today's Census data is it. Because we worked together, we saved a Congressional seat, we proved that we are a growing City, and our 2020 count was strong like New York, despite the pandemic.

This is a phenomenal result and we are grateful to all of ABNY's partners - government, CBOs, businesses big and small, faith leaders, and non-profits – for coming together and for working with us for years to fight for an accurate count. Now to the future: a city that's growing, recovering and ready to thrive!
